Named after a famous British thoroughbred Race Horse when first outshopped in 1948, the sole surviving member of Arthur Peppercorn's LNER A2 Class, 60532 Blue Peter makes a grand return hauling a private charter train from Kings Cross to York with it's first passenger train on the mainline since 2001.
After years of being on display or in storage since it last steamed on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway in 2002, Blue Peter has finally emerged earlier this year from an overhaul lasting around 9 to 8 years looking good as new and wearing the beautiful BR Express Blue livery for the first time, having previously worn LNER Apple Green and BR Brunswick Green in her earlier preservation life.
