This is a segment of the slide show Steve Zabel Off the Beaten Track, featuring the photography of Steve Zabel and friends. Here we see superb shots on kodachrome and other slide films of New York City Buses from the mid 1960s to early 1980s. NYCTA, Queens Transit, Avenue B and East Broadway, UMTA Transbus demonstrators, and many odd models on trial for the TA and MaBSTOA. The el demolition shots were taken in '73 or '74 on 3rd Avenue in the Bronx. If Steve was alive today I know he would be a major presence on YouTube. The final shots are from his camera looking out from his apartment window at E 34th Street and Third Avenue towards the Murray Hill movie theater on a very stormy day in 1978 or 79. Other segments of the show featuring the subway are also uploaded. Check out the new book of Steve Zabel photography www.makingallstops.com
