In this video I tear down a huge 59kg air conditioning scroll compressor from an 8 horsepower air conditioner.
It's a comedy of errors as I try and figure out what to do next.
I'd recommend that you use this video as a guide of what not to do when trying to reclaim scrap burnt copper. :)

This channel is my recycling journey from kerbside collections and dumpster diving and ending at the scrap metal dealer for a cash payout.
I love walking the streets (especially with my 17yo Maltese Terrier, Elliot) and finding recyclable waste, taking it back to my small workshop (The Cage) and pulling it apart, saving it from landfill and feeding it back into the manufacturing stream via the scrap metal dealer.
My favourite metals are brass, copper and aluminium. I also do a lot of steel which is an inevitable biproduct of scrapping.
When I'm not scrapping, my other hobbies are growing vegetables, compost worms and Australian native stingless bees.
I also like fixing cars and doing handyman work.
