Saudi Arabia is building a citybuilding, THE LINE, 170 km long, 500 m high and 200 m wide in the middle of the desert. This project has already claimed the lives of several local tribesmen who refused to leave their ancestral habitat. More than 1000 billion dollars will be spent on this project and the others that make up NEOM (Oxagon, a floating industrial city and Trojena a ski resort which will host the Asian Winter Games in 2029).

The project is intended to be ecological and should operate 100% with renewable energies. The transport would be done only with a train which would reach a speed of 500 km/h and by boats via a huge canal and an artificial port.

Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman (MBS) is giving the country a boost with VISION 2030 which aims to transform the Saudi nation economically and socially. The country wants to limit its dependence on hydrocarbons and become the first tourist destination in the world.

The kingdom has never moved so fast in its history. It opened up to tourism in 2019, women are gaining more and more rights (work, driving, travelling, studying, sport, phasing out of guardianship, freedom of dress...). Despite the cultural and religious issues, the prince wants to westernize his country and open it up to the world.

The Saudi kingdom has become a huge building site. Highways, buildings and business districts, archaeological sites and traditional towns and gigaprojects are springing up in all regions.
