On the evening of July 15th, we got hit by a strong severe thunderstorm that I think had atleast 70 MPH winds at times. I believe this storm may have been a derecho. Most of the wind was sustained for a unusually long period of time at mainly 6070 MPH I believe. We also got a lot of heavy rain too. We didn’t end up getting any damage thankfully. This storm produced a 105 MPH wind gust in northern Illinois. This same storm also produced tornadoes in Chicago too I believe. This was definitely one of my most interesting storms I’ve filmed this season so far. We also didn’t lose any power either despite the strong winds. Recorded July 15, 2024.
