On June 14th 1948, a Swissair McDonnell Douglas DC4 lands on runway 28 at the new international airport of Zurich, Switzerland. It marks the beginning of a today 75 years long history with several ups and downs. Nowadays, Swissair is gone, but Swiss International Airlines is still going strong. Zurich Airport has recovered very well from the Covid pandemic by approaching the passenger numbers of 2019 again, which holds the current record counting over 31 million.
This video features 75 takeoffs and landings, so one clip for each year the airport was in operation, captured during the past three years. They represent the variety of airlines and aircraft which serve Zurich Airport in todays modern age.
