Sitting down to enjoy a rare meal out with your family at your favorite restaurant is a core memory for everyone growing up. Usually celebrating a birthday. Or Mother’s Day. Graduation… all culminating in me ordering whatever I wanted on the menu, mom and dad were cool with it. No I’m just kidding. Obviously I have to split the fried shrimp platter with my brother. Even more surprising was when a big national chain disappeared completely, and suddenly ‘your spot’ was gone forever.
