I have been in an era of transforming my style.
For years I kept my natural hair colour, but at the end of 2022 I committed to a colour change. Now I am blonde, and this has completely changed which colours look good on me. While I once shunned black, suddenly black started to make a lot more sense again. But this is not the only change.
For years I kept a small wardrobe of 25 40 items because I planned to move around a lot. At the time a wardrobe of this size really suited my life. I wasn't sure where I wanted to go, and there were so many benefits of keeping my clothing, shoes, and handbag selection light and narrow. I also lived in the country, where I certainly didn't have many excuses to dress up, so I could keep my style simple and casual.
Since then I have moved back to the city. I have been living a busy life. Dinners, parties, dates, international travel... 25 40 items were unable to cut it anymore!
My life has changed. The things I do have changed. At some point I realised my wardrobe needed to change. After having found a comfortable formula that worked for me, I had to completely transform my wardrobe. I really had to question how I dressed, why I dressed that way, and redefine all my own rules.
To get started with my wardrobe overhaul, I asked myself a series of questions:
WHAT DO I DO WITH MY TIME?
WHAT ARE THE SITUATIONS I STRUGGLE TO DRESS FOR?
WHAT DO I WANT THE MOOD OF MY OUTFITS TO BE?
WHAT DO I VALUE MOST IN GETTING DRESSED?
WHAT SHOULD I DECLUTTER?
WHAT SHOULD I BUY?
