They say, for instance, that clothes maketh the man, and they’ve never madeth the man more than in Red Dead Redemption.

There are a variety of outfits cowboy clotheshorse John Marston can wear and many offer unique perks, but the general gist is that the better dressed you are, the more you can get away with. Just like in real life, with blagging your way into exclusive parties, getting an upgrade at a hotel, white collar crime, et cetera.

Take the Elegant Suit. How could someone in such a beautiful threepiece suit possibly be untrustworthy, you will think, as the elegantly suited John Marston takes you to the cleaners by cheating at poker.

To really take advantage, though, Marston can don the even slicker Bureau Outfit, in which he can commit as many crimes he likes and the law can’t touch him. Wear a nice suit to your next crime and/or job interview, seems to be the lesson here.
