This special conversation is with NSUI state president Isharpreet Singh Sidhu. In which it is mentioned that the Punjab government is keeping the Education away from the poor. For which Isharpreet Singh Sidhu has opposed giving the status of autonomous colleges to eight government colleges of Punjab. He said that if these colleges are not removed from the said category, they will start a big movement in the state along with Congress and fraternal organizations.In the first phase of protest against this scheme of UGC, they will give a demand letter to the Deputy Commissioners at the district level and after that they will have a fierce struggle. According to the information, Punjab Government has proposed to make Government Mahindra College Patiala, Government College Girls Patiala, SCD Government College Ludhiana, Government College Ludhiana, SR Government College Amritsar, Government College Mohali, Government College Malerkotla and Government College Hoshiarpur autonomous.If this proposal is passed, the fees of government colleges will increase manifold.
