Topics covered in this Capacitors Class 12 lecture by ABJ sir IITD with timestamp:

00:00 09:14 Combinations of plates (Example 1): In this example, there are four parallel metallic plates of area A at equal separation d, as given in the figure. We have to find the value of Capacitance b/w any two plates. To find the capacitance, we will connect them with a battery. Now, could you identify the connection series or parallel? So by simplifying the circuit, we can calculate equivalent capacitance. Now a dielectric medium is inserted b/w two plates, then find the capacitance value. As we solved earlier, we can find the capacitance of the plates with dielectric. Using the series or parallel combination formula, equivalent capacitance can be determined.
09:25 17:49 Combinations of plates (Example 2): In this example, there are five parallel metallic plates of area A, as given in the figure.
18:14 24:57 Variable Dielectric wrt area b/w two plates: (Advanced Concept) In this condition, the dielectric medium b/w the plates varies wrt the plate area. ABJ Sir solved this example using formulae of parallel combinations of capacitors.
24:57 32:05 Variable Dielectric wrt separation b/w two plates: (Advanced Concept) In this condition, the dielectric medium b/w the plates varies wrt the plate separation. The value of dielectric is changing from one plate to another. ABJ Sir solved this example using formulae of series combinations of capacitors.
32:05 36:12 Capacitor Problem 1: In this problem, we have two capacitor of charge q and q at a position x=0 and x=l respectively, and there is variable electric field given as a function of position x. We have to find the value of capacitance of this system.
36:45 42:11 Spherical capacitor: A spherical capacitor consists of a solid or hollow spherical conductor surrounded by another hollow concentric spherical of a different radius. ABJ sir derives the formulae of capacitance using the basic definition of capacitance which is the ratio of charge and potential difference. Students should remember the formulae of spherical capacitors directly for problemsolving purposes.
42:11 45:32 Spherical Capacitor (Subcase): If the radius of the outer spherical shell is infinite, it will behave like a solid spherical capacitor. So the value of capacitance is determined by ABJ Sir using the last formulae.
45:41 52:25 Capacitor Problem 2: In this problem, we have two concentric shells, and the inner shell has potential V and the outer shell is connected to the earth, so its potential is zero. We have to find the capacitance of this system.
52:25 56:15 Capacitor Problem 3: In this problem, we have two concentric shells, and the outer shell has potential V and the inner shell is connected to the earth, so its potential is zero. We have to find the capacitance of this system.
56:35 01:01:17 Capacitor Problem 4: In this problem, we have two concentric shells, and the inner shell has potential V. We have to find the capacitance of this system.
01:01:35 01:04:46 Capacitor Problem 5: In this problem, we have two metallic spheres of different radius at a very large distance. We have to capacitance of this system.
01:04:55 01:13:53 Cylindrical Capacitor: The cylindrical capacitor includes a hollow or a solid cylindrical conductor surrounded by the concentric hollow spherical cylinder. So the value of capacitance of this capacitor is determined by ABJ sir.

This is the ninth lecture of Capacitor / Capacitance class 12 for JEE Mains & Advanced. There are 10 lectures in one shot for Capacitor class 12, in which ABJ sir is covering all topics, concepts, examples, and problems that are important for JEE Mains and Advanced.

This Capacitor class 12 Physics lecture consists of the combinations of capacitors series & parallel combination and Wheat stone bridge for capacitors. This lecture is for the Science student of class 12 who is preparing for JEE Mains & Advanced or Olympiad. ABJ sir also covered JEE ADVANCED PYQ in this lecture.
