90 Landings & Takeoffs in 60 Minutes, today with a special Classic planes edition. I am mainly interested in old planes which is the reason why I spent lots of time driving through europe to airports where a special classic plane was expected. Two years ago I finally managed to film a Douglas Dc8. The Dc872 of Samaritans Purse made an unexpected fuel stop at Stuttgart and I drove almost through entire germany just to film my first Douglas Dc8. The aircraft is still active in 2024 but they already added a Boeing 757200 to their fleet. I hope it` s just an addition and the DC872 will flying for much longer. Another famous DC8 operator, Nasa, removed the Dc8 from operation earlier this year and the aircraft is now parked in a museum.

Another interesting classic plane I filmed was the Vickers VC10 of the RAF at Brize Norton in 2011. It was one of my first videos and as you see the footage was a bit shaky. If I remember correctly this was the last time I saw (and heard) a VC10. Sadly the aircraft had been removed from service that year. Brize Norton used to be an amazing place, especially when the RAF was training with their L1011 Tristar and VC10.
