映像タイムトラベル

Early 1965 footage of the JR Joto Freight Line. The Joto Freight Line was built around the time of World War II to transport tanks and artillery shells. Even after the war, it was Osaka's main freight line.

The video shows the vibrancy of Osaka, one of Japan's leading commercial cities, in the midst of rapid economic growth. Now, with the opening of the Osaka Higashi Line (2018), it has changed completely, but from old footage, you can get a glimpse of Osaka in its heyday.

The highlight is the various steam locomotives. In addition to steam locomotives D51, D52, C11, and C62, Hankyu Electric Railway, Keihan Electric Railway, and JR Katamachi Line trains will appear. Tadao Nakajima, a film photographer and train fanatic, talks about an interesting episode with Takashi Tamai, the host of the program. Mr. Nakajima visited the railway site for more than a month to create the work. All shot at great angles.
