A Dress Made From A Duvet Cover And Vintage Pattern

Thea Starr

This was a quick and easy sewing project. But I wanted to share a bit more about it than just a photo. And remember friends, wear the clothes.

Details
Fabric : A $5 duvet cover from the thrift store. Soft floral woodland print with deep green and black stripes. It’s everything I want in a fabric. Feels like high quality cotton. I‘ll share more about the fabric in a reel.

Pattern : Vogue Patterns Designer Originals Bellville Sassoon 1049 (1980s)

Alterations : I had to work with a border print so the skirt isn’t as full as it could be. I added a striped band at the waist for visual interest. I also left the sleeves ungathered. It’s my preference.

10/10 will make this „Sea sirenesque“ dress style again.
