Welcome to A Far Too Brief History of American Motors, known as AMC!
What I thought would be a short video and a short history of American Motors turned into a multiweek project!
A company I didn't know much about, aside from a few models such as the Eagle, and I became completely enamored with this scrappy underdog fighting against the Big Three by going where they weren't: smaller, innovative, wellbuilt, and efficient cars. Efficient not only in gas (relatively) but also prioritizing passenger space.
I fell in love with the company and the cars from the handsome Rambler American to the AMX to the Concord AMC made some good looking and reserved cars.
But several critical missteps along the way left them in dire straights and they fell into the arms of Renault for a savior... and 10 years later to Chrysler.
