About:
Created in 1980 by Mike Score, his brother Ali and friends Frank Maudsley and Paul Reynolds, the Liverpoolbased band A Flock of Seagulls became a worldwide success with the 1982 single "I Ran (So Far Away)", followed by the release of their first album, that brings some other hits as "Space Age Love Song", "Modern Love Is Automatic" and "Telecommunication" not to mention the instrumental "D.N.A.", that gave the band the Grammy Award for Best Rock Instrumental Performance in 1983. Despite making a major success in America, A Flock of Seagulls reached the top 10 of the UK singles chart with "Wishing (If I Had a Photograph of You)", which was included in their second album "Listen". Other singles as "Nightmares" and "Transfer Affection" was also included in the release. Following the success of the hit "The More You Live, The More You Love", the group released "The Story of a Young Heart", their third album and the last with Paul Reynolds on the guitar. In 1986 they recorded "Dream Come True", with a more poporiented sound, and released, as a different lineup, "The Light at the End of the World" in 1995. In 2003, all the original members reunited for an oneoff performance and made some gigs in US in the following year. They got together again in 2018 to rerecord their hits with the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra and put them into a new album, "Ascension". With the same idea, another album was released in 2021 ("String Theory"), featuring an orchestral version of their underrated songs.
