DESCRIPTION: This interview was filmed on location in a house near Louisiana Boulevard and Central Avenue in Albuquerque's War Zone. Selena explains the challenges for a youth growing up in New Mexico. She focuses on her mother's past criminal charges and incarceration as they left indelible effects on her childhood. Identifying as MexicanAmerican, the teenage runaway lived with numerous New Mexican foster families in Belen and across the state.
