Abandoned Colnbrook Level Crossing, Colnbrook, Berkshire.

Location: 51.479195, 0.509227
Date Filmed: 02072023

Abandoned open crossing situated within the village of Colnbrook near Slough. The crossing was on the now long closed line running between West Drayton and Staines West, with a station called Colnbrook serving the area. The station closed in 1965 following the Beeching Report, and goods services along the line stopped a year after. The line remains inuse upto where the old crossing was, for Aggregate trains down to an industrial estate. A Class 66 locomotive is seen parked on the terminus of the freight line to West Drayton.

The only thing remaining of the crossing is a single whiteborder halogen warning light (wigwag), with a Yodalarm and crossbuck fitted. It is covered in vegetation, facing at an angle and all the light lenses have been removed. The track on the other side of the road has been lifted, and several apartments built over it.
