The concept of mechanics is widely used when discussing videogames, but, how far do we comprehend what they are? In this video, I'll talk about what mechanics are from an academic perspective due to the multiple interpretations all of us have done on the concept, in addition to classify and deconstruct them in order to ease their design and study.

This video has took such an amount of time because I had to rewrite it several times, first because I thought I wouldn't need the help of other sources, and second because third party articles about the works Imentioned didn't help to understand the concept of mechanics, rather the opposite.

In turn, the audio was recorded when my throat was hoping to retire to the afterlife where it could rest and not work never again, so it may be possible that you might hear some... vocal curiosities.
