So basically none of my childhood toys ever survived the past 2 months in my possession, as they’ve all been gutted and turned into my DIY projects. This destructive hobby eventually forced me to become proficient in several software tools so that I could satisfy my desire to make cool stuff like these .... I’ll not narrate them as I’ve only got 90 seconds. I also enjoy participating in research, like engineering this new locomotion system for soft robots.

I’m not planning on keeping this knowledge to myself though as I find joy in sharing what I know, so last summer, I lead a small team to develop an ML course for a Tencent platform, which is currently in use in many public schools. I won't stop there either, as my will to inspire another generation of young engineers has led me to found CERAS, an engineering group that invents robots that play musical instruments. We’ve had two public performances so far with live audiences numbering in the hundreds. We even hold weekly sessions to teach younger students the inner workings of our robot musicians.

I’m also a nature enthusiast and an experienced ant keeper who’s kept over 30 species. After noticing a demand gap in my community, I wanted to share the fun by starting my own antkeeping business, Mermecophile. I taught myself business principles, advertised online, started a blog, and sold homebred ant colonies and ant farms.

Outside of my engineering and entrepreneurial ventures, I’m a multiinstrumentalist and enjoy the occasional gig at the club. I realize that M&T [Might be a bit weird to abbreviate these]are very similar to learning new instruments in that the skills required are all interconnected, whether it be leading an engineering team or running a pet business. Overall, I believe that my extensive experiences in engineering, business, and leadership have adequately prepared me for the intense program that M&TSI provides, where I will capture every opportunity to use its resources to their fullest.
