On June 20th, ACP was joined by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield/Elevance Health for an inside look at how to tap into the healthcare industry. Elevance Health’s support for Veterans within the company and Veteran organizations in the communities they serve, including ACP, was highlighted. The panel featured three Elevance Health associates: Victor DeStefano, President of NY Commercial Business; Jonathan Ciprian, Director of Strategic Initiatives, VETS BRG NY Chapter Lead, and U.S. Air Force Veteran; and Christopher Pagan, Senior Technical Program Manager and Programming Chair of the VETS BRG, and U.S. Marine Corps Veteran.

The discussion provided an indepth breakdown of the organization within insurance and healthcare services. They covered topics on networking, career progression, Veteran resource groups and programs the company participates in to help Veterans strengthen their professional growth. Panelist Jonathan Ciprian shared his personal experience as an ACP Mentor and how each experience has helped him gain insight into what a Military Spouse or transitioning service member needs to get their foot in the door. He emphasized the key to success is asking questions and continuing to be curious along the way. The event concluded with a live Q&A session with the virtual audience.
