Adding a SMOKE UNIT u0026 DCC to BACHMANN THOMAS THE TANK ENGINE

This is probably my most requested video on this channel, and it is finally here! Please note this video depicts modelling techniques which can be dangerous for younger viewers.

I incorrectly mention that the chassis I'm using in the video isn't DCC ready. It is and would require a 'Next18' decoder. That said, most Bachmann Thomas models will likely not be DCC ready, and even if it is you can still hard wire if you choose to, like showcased in the video.

The decoder I use in my engines is that Hattons 4 function DCC decoder. https://www.hattons.co.uk/738292/hatt...

You'll need to make sure that whatever DCC decoder you decide to use has functions that are able to power the smoke unit (1016 volts).

The smoke unit I use is the Seuthe 22 unit.

If you have any further questions, please let me know in the comment section below.

Please note, this is just my personal guide on how I convert my locomotives to DCC and install a smoke unit.
