Installing the air bags on the Nissan Titan XD was harder than the directions or the videos showed it to be. Then again, I was using Harbor Freight tools in front of my storage shed.
I am not bashing Harbor Freight's tools, but if the ratchet wrenches break on the first uses and they were not under much torque and pressure, then there may be a problem. As far as the sockets splitting out, I knew better than to put them under load, but they were all I had and were not designed for a 1/2 impact pushing them either.
One thing to know, the 3/4" (19mm) bolts on the frame that holds the goose neck hitch will have to come out. I had to use a 4' breaker bar with 2 long extensions to get it to come loose. Of course I did not have anything to get these looses so I had to ask for help from a couple of guys that were working on their racecar and row over. Think goodness they had what I needed or this would not have gotten done.
This little project sure made me miss the shop and tools back in Texas. This would have only taken half the time with the proper setup.
In the end I saved about seven hundred dollars doing this myself so I guess that makes up for the problems I faced. I remember a time in my life where I would sell my soul for that kind of money.
The air lines went in easy with no leaks. I chose to go with the manual bags because I could not justify the expense of a system with a pump. I just don't use it enough.
I hope this fixes my squatting issues on the Titan, they said it would. I guess we are going to find out next week. We are headed to Black Mesa Oklahoma for three days of star gazing and fishing. Fingers crossed.
