On May 18, 2017 a highly localized, but powerful storm causes substantial damage in Addison, VT. The National Weather Service called on the University of Vermont UAS Team to assist with the damage assessment. By integrating UAS imagery into their assessment, NWS personnel were able to determine the type of storm and the extent of the damage. This approach saved money, time, and was safer.
