CESPHN has been advised by NSW Health that information included in this webinar with regards to initiating the prescribing of psychostimulant medication is not accurate for GPs working in NSW.
This content has now been removed from this video.
Please see advice as per NSW Health website below:
In most cases, General Practitioners applying to prescribe a psychostimulant will only be approved where the applicant is in a patient comanagement or transfer of care arrangement with a relevant medial specialist.
You may find the information on NSW Health webpage useful to clarify some of this https://www.health.nsw.gov.au/pharmac...

Other registered medical practitioners comanaging patients with a specialist prescriber
All other registered medical practitioners including General Practitioners (GPs) and advanced trainees in relevant medical specialties, are required to apply for individual patient approval to prescribe a psychostimulant medicine.
In most cases, these applications will only be approved where the applicant is in a patient comanagement or transfer of care arrangement with a relevant medical specialist.
To apply for an approval to prescribe psychostimulant, applicants can use SafeScript NSW health practitioner portal for the approval management functionality.
