By the end of the day, nearly 1 million workers will suffer a workplace accident. By the end of the day, approximately 7,500 people will die due to an occupational accident or disease.

V.B. Sant, Former Director General National Safety Council, India, tells a story about a close friend — A very close friend of mine, working in a refinery, had an accident. As a result, his face was disfigured and he said that "Death is better than this." So when accident happens, the injuries which takes place have got a very longterm effect.

Jason Moore, Fire Chief Bloomington, Indiana, talks about the impact new technology has on the success of their response — As a fire chief, I feel like it's my job to take care of my people, give them the tools they need. With all the new technology from 3M Scott, you're saving minutes or seconds off a rescue. That is the difference between somebody taking their last breath and them walking away the next day.

Karen Cuta, Global Safety Training Manager at 3M, explains that millions of workers are killed each year in workrelated accidents.
