My flying club's Chief Flight Instructor, Andreas Müller, offered club members flights in a Boeing Stearman (PT17) (HBRBG) which is currently based in Switzerland but was formerly a primary trainer for the Argentinian Air Force.

This was my first time in a Stearman and Andreas let me perform some basic manoeuvres including turns and stalls before he put on an aerobatics display for me. He then let me perform two loops. Finally after doing a couple of steep turns he had me fly the final approach which involved a forward slip due to the poor forward visibility of the aircraft and then praying for the landing after the plane was lined up and the runway was no longer visible. ;) My slip drifted a bit to the right of the centreline which Andreas had to correct before the praying began.

The flight was brilliant and I thoroughly enjoyed the aerobatics and the chance to fly this classic aircraft.
