The cylinders were inspected and exhaust valves removed. Carbon had built up on the top of the valve stems, causing the starboard valve to stay slightly open. Both exhaust valves were cleaned and lapped, cylinders refitted and we flew home.

I shall remove the cylinders on an annual / 25 hour cycle from now on. The carbon was the result of my over enthusiastic lubrication.
