After the Annual in the Aerostar 702P

Follow
Eric Reese - Aerostar Pilot

Welcome to my channel! Today, I'm excited to take you on a journey as I fly my Aerostar 702P from Renton (KRNT) to Paine Field (KPAE) after completing the 2023 annual inspection. But before we take off, I want to discuss an important concept in aviation called Condition Bias.

Condition Bias is a cognitive bias that can affect pilots when they become overly focused on the condition of their aircraft, to the point where they may overlook other important factors that could affect the safety of the flight. For example, a pilot may become fixated on a particular system or component of the aircraft, such as the engine or landing gear, and fail to notice other factors that could impact the flight, such as weather conditions or air traffic.

As pilots, it's important to be aware of Condition Bias and take steps to mitigate its effects. This includes conducting a thorough preflight inspection, staying vigilant throughout the flight, and maintaining situational awareness at all times.

So, with that in mind, let's hop into the cockpit and take to the skies as we explore the beautiful Pacific Northwest in my Aerostar 702P.
