đź”´ After You've Gone : jazz guitar lesson. What's going on with the chords?

Follow
Jazz guitar with Andy

After You've Gone is an important jazz standard to learn. Largely because a good example of a jazz standard that doesn't start on chord one. In this lesson I show you the chords and chord shapes to After You've Gone. I then breakdown how the harmony is functioning and why the chords move like they do. People often incorrectly interpret the chords, this leads to bad choices when it comes soloing, so it's always important to correctly understand what is going on with the chords.
I cover:

The chord shapes you need (with link to download a pdf of them)
The chord order/chart
Roman numeral analysis eg looking at what chords are in and out key and how they function.
