Alaska. We all dream of it: An endless expanse of mountains containing line after snow filled line to challenge our legs. There would be no helicopters for this rag tag pack of northwesterners (and one Nevadan) who explore a landscape they'd only seen on screen. Snow proved variable, so heads up skiing was important. But, in this place, there would always be pockets of dreamy pow laying in wait.
Classic lines like Cherry Couloir and RFS stood before us, while we regularly climbed couloirs in Stairway and the Iguana Backs. Looking upon that landscape only made us realize how endless skiing could be.
