The Mongols, renowned for their military might, sought to expand their territory and plunder resources. Led by Qutlugh Khwaja, they launched incursions into northern India, posing a grave threat to the Delhi Sultanate's stability.
The clash culminated in a decisive battle near Delhi. Despite being outnumbered, Alauddin Khilji's forces, including Zafar Khan's contingent, displayed resilience and tactical brilliance. They repelled the Mongols, inflicting heavy casualties.
