In this walking tour, we are exploring the town Albufeira. Albufeira is a tourist town with many hotels, restaurants, cafes, and many beautiful beaches.
Once a quaint fishing village, Albufeira has gained popularity for its red and golden sandy beaches. Today, it is dedicated to mass tourism, especially cheap packages, and has practically lost all traces of its past. The fishing boats are now moored in the ultramodern marina southwest of the center, and the old town with its pretty cobblestone streets and Moorish influences is hidden by gaudy posters, English menus and noisy bars in the purest sad decadence of a paradise.
