My Album of the Week: Ratboy's "The Window". The entire album is excellent, specifically this track, "Black Earth, WI".

When I first heard the band name, I immediately. thought, "Punk Rock band, maybe out of the UK, all male band", which is certainly not a negative, but what I found interesting was they are none of these.

Ratboys are made up of a male drummer, bassist and lead guitarist, but their singer, Julia Steiner, has a melodic tone to her voice.

Ratboys are a mix of 90s grunge, 70s and 90s Jam Band and perhaps present day Wilco with a heavier guitar edge to them.

The Window (2023) is their 5th studio album and it is a GEM.
