The Battle of the Granicus was a large battle fought between Alexander the Great and the Persian Empire in 334 BC. The battle took place along the Granicus River in what is now modernday Turkey.

Alexander and his armies were able to defeat the Persians and gain control of a significant portion of Asia Minor. The victory at the Battle of the Granicus was a key moment in Alexander's conquest of the Persian Empire. It helped to establish him as one of the greatest military leaders in history.
