In this video, Paige walks you through her process of testing and feeling out a new unreleased bike, the Trek Checkmate! This is Trek’s fastest and lightest gravel bike that they’ve made to date (~1.5lbs lighter than the previous Checkpoint SLR). The bike has new geometry that allows the rider to get lower, so in addition to the bike being more aerodynamic it also assists the rider in being more aerodynamic, which is the largest area of drag.

Overall, Paige has had the bike for nearly 3 months and was able to podium (3rd) at Unbound back in May when first testing it. Hopefully the video brings you into the process of finding the Checkmate’s limits, but most importantly celebrates the vast variety of gravel bikes and needs among gravel riders.
