Just a little warning:
Allyl alcohol is quite toxic and a powerful lacrimator so it's quite nasty to work with. Also the reaction produces some acrolein which is even worse. This synthesis is not the kind of fun chemistry experiment to do on a friday night (...unless you want to suffer ig).

The procedure involves heating a mix of glycerol and formic acid to form allyl alcohol.
