“Recovery can be so beautiful but people can stigmatize it. One of the things I struggled with through addition was selfhatred, selfloathing and not forgiving myself,” says Alyson, who has been in recovery for more than 19 years.

Today, Alyson lives a life filled with family and travel. She is proof that recovery is possible and that the last thing someone needs during their recovery is stigma. Instead, we can provide support to those living with this disease by offering empathy and understanding, joining the fight to end stigma.
