The light was a bit larger than I expected compared to what I've seen in stores, but overall is still a compact and lightweight unit. The light can be staked in the ground or optionally mounted to a wall using the included hardware. It comes partially disassembled but really only needs to have you attach the light to the solar panel joint using the included tightening nut.

The housing of the light, solar panel and the stake are entirely plastic, though feel somewhat durable. Once you have the light in place, you can orient the solar panel (on a single axis) to face the sun. The solar panel also acts as an ambient light sensor and the light will only turn on when it is dark enough. The power button is located on the back of the solar panel box and turning it off and on again will toggle between the two modes, low and high. In full sun, with at least 8 hours of direct sunlight, the battery can fully charge and will run about 68 hours in bright mode and all night in low mode. The two different modes differ only in their power consumption and how much light you need for your specific purpose. The light is a bright white, but in low mode only casts a subtle light: enough to see a path or walkway. In high mode you'll be able to see up to 20 feet away.

The batteries in this light are replaceable and should be replaced at least once a year with an equivalent 18650 3.7V Liion battery. It comes with a 2200mAh capacity battery, but you use 3000 or even 5000 to extend the runtime of the light at night. This unit would work well in front of sheds and garages or lighting up a tree and landscaping at night.
