My vacuum ring system is comprised of a liner to protect the skin, a ring system for suction and a one way vacuum valve.
My residual limb is not end baring. Even though I have an Ertl procedure (bone bridge) I am not able to walk on the end of my residual limb. It is actually incredibly painful.
My socket actually holds me up on the sides of my limb suspending me in the socket so the end of my limb does not touch at all.
I use prosthetic leg socks to build up the lost volume and keep my vacuum socket fitting well.
Suspension sleeves might help make your prosthetic leg waterproof.
The direct fit socket system is painted directly onto your residual limb rather than using a traditional cast and plaster method.
A vacuum pump prosthetic leg or a BOA prosthetic leg system might help eliminate the need for prosthetic socks.
Pin lock socket prosthetic legs add security from your leg falling off.
Insurance companies use K1K4 to determine the coverage allowed. K1 is bedbound, K2 is mobile with aid, K3 is mobile and K4 is active.
