Amtrak Empire Builder Sleeper Bedroom Vs Roomette | Full tour of the Roomettes u0026 Bedrooms

Chris Flaten

Amtrak Empire Builder has two options for the sleeper car, a roommate, and a full bedroom. Here is a full tour of both the roommates and the bedroom, Something that would've been great for me to have before going on one of these trips. Talk about all the options from the power outlets, to how to get water, to what the shower and bathroom situations are.

Being able to understand the differences between the roommates and the bedrooms is important to some people, but also the placement of amenities so you know what you need to bring. So if you're in a roomette you have to bring an extension cord or surge protector because of the placement of the outlet. Whereas if you're in a bedroom you have three different outlets so you might not need to.

All meals are included in all sleeper car rooms. All you have to do is fill out your room number, and car number, and sign the slip at the table when you go to the dining car. That process would have been nice for me to know and understand ahead of time.

We stayed in the roomette for most of our trip, we were able to spend all morning in a bedroom and explore what life could have been like with a little more space and a little more cost. We decided that the roomette was the better choice over the bedroom, but that could be different for someone that has a little hard of a time moving around.

This is the First information video in a series of videos from Amtrak's Empire Builder, so look forward to My Fiancé and Mine's trip aboard.
