Welcome back to our Empire Builder trip report! Last week, we boarded this epic train in Portland, Oregon. Today, we wake up in Montana, just east of the border with Idaho. Our first night in our coach seat was good, and today our eyes will be in for a treat. The Empire Builder travels straight through Glacier National Park! Come along with Thom and Bear and enjoy views of the snowcapped Rocky Mountains.
Then, suddenly, the mountains abruptly end. We continue to cruise through endless Montana plains. Though our train had accumulated a delay, there were still plenty of opportunities to step outside and take a breath of Montana air. Since this video was recorded in early March, it was still very cold on the prairie!
