Today we’re taking a look at the Avro 549 Aldershot. This was Avro’s first entirely new postwar military aircraft, and it was built as a longrange, singleengine heavy bomber. Following the end of the first world war, the idea of single engine bombers had become quite popular with the British Air Ministy, and the Aldershot was one result of this thinking.
