Our quest to find the best dividend ETF brings us to NOBL the ProShares S&P 500 Dividend Aristocrats ETF. We love aristocrats stocks that have not only paid a dividend for at least 25 years but increased it as well. A number of concerns are raised in this analysis. First and foremost would be the 0.35% transaction fees which are 3 to 5 times greater than the cheapest dividend ETFs out there such as SCHD or VIG. Second, and a lesser concern, would be the distributions that don't always increase. That's because of the index mechanics and distribution timing. While the S&P 500 aristocrats strategy outperforms the S&P 500 over a long enough duration, we're not convinced that this ETF is worth the price tag. That's why we created our own dividend growth investing strategy, Quantigence, which allows investors to choose their own dividend growth stocks for a portfolio that matches their preferences. The NOBL ETF index methodology makes a lot of sense, just be aware of the fees being charged.
