Driving home, we stopped to hike to an isolated lake where we heard an owl hoot.

Our first step to making our off grid journey a reality was to sell my 18ft Kingfisher aluminum fishing boat and upgrade the F150 to a F350.

We're in our rented apartment in Surrey near Vancouver. This is where we spent our week days. Luckily we had a yard and the tenants above us had returned to China just before the craziness started, so it was also very quiet!

We're on our way to meet friends and make new ones at an off grid property.

In the ride, we discuss our moves and plans to make our dream a reality.

We know how much we have to buy a property.

Forgetting my gopro at the top of the mountain, I had to do the hike once more to go get it! Now I can eat a lot of chips!

Merlin tries his best to get Baguette to open up and play with him.

We wanted that first property so badly! It amazes me how powerful this lesson was!

I purchased a camera in early 2003 and from then on, kept a regular video diary.
