An OFF GRID journey 6: The mosquitoes were hungry that day! Visiting 7 properties in a weekend.

Getting a pressure canner was a pressing thing to do in preparation to living off grid.

We didn't get the property in the Fraser canyon area. This HUGE deception really fired me up to find our property before September. During the weekdays I would do research on as many properties as I could in a specific area. Then on the weekend we would travel and visit those properties.

Gardening in our backyard in Surrey.

Crazy times at the pool! Imagine trying to have swimmers of all ages, abilities and speed train while keeping 2 meters apart! That was as far as I was willing to play along to keep my job that I loved and was passionate about. I knew it wouldn't be long before I would be "mandated" to wear a mask while coaching or even have to show a vax passport to enter the building! I wasn't going to play those games.

We visit 7 properties in a weekend! The properties were not memorable but the mosquitoes were! Probably never seen before or since, that much mosquitoes. It was insane!

We went camping at Nahatlach valley. We were pretty happy with our purchase of an inflatable kayak. I think Baguette was happy too!

_______________

I purchased a camera in early 2003 and from then on, kept a regular video diary.

It is with Heart Wide Open, that I share my addventures on my journey in Life.

Every week I upload alternatively a video from the past (starting in 2003 while teaching English in Seoul, South Korea) and one from 6 months ago where I live offgrid, in the middle of nowhere, with the love of my life and our animals.

In the recent videos (episodes), you will see me learn to build, pretty much by myself, projects such as a root cellar, a passive solar greenhouse to grow food year round, a shop/garage with a mezzanine and tackle the daily challenges of living so remotely.

In the videos of the past, you will see the path which led me from teaching English in Korea to my current lifestyle. From the Freedom 35 project to Living in Slovakia, from marriage to divorce, you will witness my unique journey which has shaped me into who I am now.

Hope you enjoy!
