Anal dyssynergia is the dysfunction and incoordination of pelvic floor muscles that assist in stooling. This is a common diagnosis provided by Anorectal (AR) manometry testing at the Colorectal Center and Motility Disorders Program. Patients with this diagnosis are referred to pelvic floor physical therapists for treatment.
