Anand Patwardhan is an Indian documentary filmmaker known for his sociopolitical, human rightsoriented films. Some of his films explore the rise of religious fundamentalism, sectarianism and casteism in India, while others investigate nuclear nationalism and unsustainable development.
His documentaries include War and Peace (02) and Jai Bhim Comrade (11) as well as the Festival selections In the Name of God (92), Father, Son, and Holy War (94), and Reason (18). The World is Family (23) is his latest film. He is also a member of the Oscar Academy.
