The passenger was killed and the pilot was badly injured. A news photo shows a blazing wreck on a road. An investigator said “For now what I can say is that it looks like the plane was flying too low and flew into a power line. We are working to establish why the pilot was flying so low. There was a power outage and NamPower is working on it"

On a personal note the level of training/early solo accidents with gyroplanes in the last few weeks is barely believable and I think if you are in the category of low time or early solo pilot then I think I'd pause for thought and really ensure that your return to flight hasn't left you rusty.
