ANSYS CFD Tutorial: Converging - Diverging Nozzle | Part 2: Super-Sonic Flow Condition

Follow
The Engineering Guide

Welcome to The Engineering Guide!

This is part 2 of the converging diverging nozzle series where the various flow regimes and flow events that are expected to occur in the converging diverging nozzle will be studied using ANSYS Fluent. In part 2, we will take a look at the supersonic flow conditions, the condition where the pressure at the exit of the nozzle is low so that the the flow velocity increases supersonically through the diverging portion on the nozzle. However this pressure does have to be low enough so we do not see normal shockwaves inside the nozzle. In this video, we will see the results that are expected to be obtained, we will go through some calculation in order to determine what exit pressure will give supersonic flow conditions and then we will move into ANSYS Fluent to make this analysis.

Thank you for watching! Hope you enjoyed!
